About Dr. Luke Moja
My Story
I developed an interest in health and athletics at a young age - playing basketball through high school and enjoying running and strength training during my teenage years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After high school, I attended Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, where I earned a degree in Integrative Health Sciences in 2008.
It was during this time that I began experiencing some health challenges such as digestive problems, weight loss, and fatigue. Through the help of a chiropractor, I learned that the overuse of antibiotics had caused an imbalance in my gut bacteria. We also discovered I had an intolerance to gluten and some other foods. After changing my diet and taking nutritional supplements, I began to improve and developed an interest in chiropractic medicine with plans of attending chiropractic school.
However, during my senior year of college I once again began to experience severe fatigue, digestive problems, and struggled to get out of bed in the mornings. The next few years of my life were spent seeing numerous doctors who either misdiagnosed my symptoms or had no answers for my mysterious illness. Some doctors even suggested that it was all in my head.
Over time, in addition to the fatigue and digestive problems, I began to suffer with anxiety, mood swings, insomnia, and neurological symptoms. Since conventional medicine seemed to offer no solutions, I took matters into my own hands and began researching alternative and natural medicine interventions to improve my health. I also started working with functional and integrative medicine doctors who diligently looked to find the root causes of my issues.
In 2013, I was tested for Lyme disease and the test came back positive. I also had high levels of heavy metals such as mercury and lead. This led to 8 weeks of intense treatment at a clinic in Arizona - treatment which included IV antibiotics, chelation, and immunotherapy to treat the Lyme and detoxify my body.
The Lyme treatment was successful and I began to improve. However, a few years later, my parents and I moved from Florida to Georgia so they could be closer to my aging grandparents. Shortly after the move, my health started to decline again. It was discovered that we were being exposed to mold in our home. I went back to Florida to escape the mold exposure. It was around this time that I revisited my prior dream of attending chiropractic school, and I was accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida Campus in Port Orange. I also started working with a functional medicine doctor to detoxify and rebuild my body after the mold exposure.
I graduated from chiropractic school in December 2021 and began working at Tri-County Clinic of Chiropractic in Vidalia, Georgia. While working at Tri-County Clinic, I became a certified functional medicine practitioner through Functional Medicine University. I completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice course from the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2024.
At times during my health journey, I was tempted to give up, but through faith in God and the continued prayers and support of my family, I persevered and am pursuing God’s purpose for my life in helping others on their health journeys as well.
I currently live in Yulee, Florida with my Labrador retriever, Jake. I enjoy the beach, working out, golf, playing guitar, reading, and being active in my church. I love sports and have been a loyal Jacksonville Jaguars fan since the team started in 1995.
